My Chi Flat Iron Review:
i.
Thanks for visiting my website. My name is Andrea Simpson and I am a self-confessed
'hair-gadget' nut.
Firstly, you have made a great choice in wanting to get
a new Chi Flat Iron and I'll tell you why. It's simple! The Chi works
better, looks better and for $ against performance and quality it is just
the best on the market. So, please read my review and discover
more!
The
picture shows the CHI
Ceramic Flat Iron (Turbo, 2") which I purchased last year. The
Chi, according to its makers is "Designed for hairdressers, this
professional hair straightener features patented scratch-resistant ceramic/tourmaline
plates". Well, the makers think it's great and here's my review which
I have broken down into a small few important areas to consider.
Cost: This flat iron is certainly not one of the most expensive
ones on the market and it is well worth the money. The cheapest one costs
$89.95 and their Limited Edition models cost around $139.95. In fact at
Folica.com
they not only offer Free shipping, on all models, but you also get a Free
$20 heatproof pouch on selected models. Good deal!
(Note: There are numerous other Chi models, including CHI
Limited Edition Blue Iron, CHI
Limited Edition Pink Iron & CHI
Limited Edition Red 1" Flat Iron model. To see the full range
of Chi flat irons please see the links at the end of this page.)
Construction: One of the things I look for in a good
flat iron is how well it is made and how comfortable the iron fits in
my hand. I have tried irons that are too 'slim' and you can't handle the
iron for too long without having to re-adjust it in your hand or because
the materials were so thin the heat became too much to handle. The Chi
flat iron is just about the right size and with the 'big' head it
ensures a quick hair straightening session. It is also nice and light
which obviously means you can hold it for much longer without having to
keep stopping to rest your hand.
As the plates are made of ceramic
it also means that the plates don't scratch that easily and will last
an awful lot longer. Another friend of mine has had one for over 1 year
and it still works like it was taken straight out of the box.
Hair straightening ability: Of course a flat iron
may look good, feel good in your hand and heat up in minutes but can it
do the job? The Chi has been claimed by 'industry' as one of the best
for good reason. I have thick and dark curly hair. And boy can it get
curly! Some irons can straighten real well but can still leave your hair
'frizzy' even with good shampoos and conditioners. The Chi
flat iron just glides through the curliest of hair, due to its excellent
plates and precise temperature controls. And it is guaranteed not to tug
or pull your hair, like on some cheaper models.
However, as with any flat iron you must be careful not to use too high
a temperature setting as it can be harmful if you use it on too fine a
hair.
In terms of straightening ability I would have to give it a 9 out
of 10. I've used the Sedu, another great iron and that only got
an 8 out of 10.
This iron was also the first iron I used that was able to straighten my
hair in one pass. Although it was a 'slowish' pass it still done the job.
Obviously another run would have made it even more perfect but what it
means is that even if you are in a great hurry, one pass will give you
great looking hair.
Conclusion: The Chi really is a great flat iron and
with 8 models to choose from you are sure to find the right one for yourself
or if you are buying one as a present.
Like most good flat irons it is worth paying the extra dollars for a good
quality iron rather than buying several cheaper inferior models. Get
the Chi Flat iron now and you will not be dissappointed. That's a
Guarantee!.
